Hello, my name is Alexander Butler and I was the driving force behind Star Mountain.

It brought me immense pride to work with so many profoundly loving people, and with so many people who persevered in their lives despite so much adversity. For a short time Star Mountain offered a sanctuary to these people. Each day that I was managing the centre was a gift: seeing a client emerge from a therapy room looking renewed and at peace; watching someone astonished at how good their fair trade, organic hot chocolate was; feeling the excited buzz of those waiting in the cafe to go into their yoga class.

Thank you to all who offered me compassion, or challenge, or learning during those two years. It was an amazing experience.

We, the small community of brave men and women who ran the centre, have decided to let it go knowing that only when the old is allowed to die can we each flow onwards to new birth.

I move on now, taking with me the memories of all those who were changed by Star Mountain, or contributed to it's unique nature. If you want to follow what I'm up to I have a new website here.
